8-yr-old girl takes mom’s van for breakfast

An eight-year-old girl, apparently anxious for breakfast, took her mom’s van and headed to McDonald’s in Watseka Sunday morning. On her way, the girl pulled into the Pence Service Station on Walnut street, striking a garbage receptacle and then a pillar. Watseka Police report the girl was taken by ambulance for treatment of a minor injury. Property damage at the business was estimated at $200 dollars.

It was an active weekend for area law enforcement....

Milford Police arrested a Cissna Park man early today (Monday). Jacob Johnson is charged on a Vermilion County warrant for 2-counts of aggravated fleeing & alluding an officer. Sheldon Police (Saturday) arrested 29-year-old Alisa Stanis of Watseka. She was charged with fraud and theft under $500.

A Hoopeston man was arrested Sunday for failure to pay child support. 44-year-old William Thomas was wanted on a Champaign County warrant.

22-year-old Cristine Kurnat of Watseka was arrested Friday for theft. Aware of the warrant, she turned herself in at the county jail.

Hoopeston Police investigated a burglary to a garage in the 700-block of S. Third Street. Hoopeston officers also report criminal damage to property on E. Honeywell Avenue.
