Slick Roads Trigger Accidents in Iroquois County

Motorists are advised to be aware of black ice and changing road conditions today. A mix of rain and freezing rain this (Tues) morning finds several roads quite slippery.

A 3-vehicle accident backed up traffic on I-57 near mile marker 303. A jack-knifed tractor-trailer at that location, near Chebanse.. Illinois State Police and other emergency vehicles are at the scene.  Traffic was being re-directed to Route 45.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police also investigated an accident—with injury---at County Routes 2000 E and 1600 N. No other info was available.

Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police also responded to a mishap on the Herscher Blacktop.
