The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced both directions of Interstate 57 thru Kankakee will close overnight, weather permitting, Tonight (Thursday).  The closure from 8 pm itil 6 am Friday is to accomodate  construction of the new Waldron Road / Maple Street bridge project.  A posted detour will direct motorists.  Expect delays and allow some extra time.
