Naked Suspect Arrested after police pursuit

A 26-year-old Chicago man faces several traffic offenses after leading Indiana State Police on a chase this (Friday) morning in Clinton and Tippecanoe County. Francis Joseph was arrested after fleeing his vehicle and then found lying in a field – naked.

When handcuffed, after a Boone County (IN) K-9 Unit helped track him, Joseph provided no reason why he took his clothes off while fleeing from police. His clothes were located in the field. The suspect is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Criminal Recklessness, and other traffic offenses.

State Police reported the suspect was initially driving just 40 mph on I-65, without lights and swerving from lane to lane at 1:10 am. After running a stop sign at an exit on SR-28, he nearly hit a semi. A trooper stopped the vehicle but Joseph sped away. He fled on foot after getting his car struck in mud.
