The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department reports a hit-and-run victim has died of injuries sustained earlier this month in Pembroke Township. The un-identified 46-year-old man was struck by a vehicle January 6. He died last week at a Chicago hospital.

The man’s name is not being released while the investigation continues. Police are still searching for a vehicle believed to have been involved. Anyone with information about the incident can call CrimeStoppers 815-932-7463.

Police responded to the hit-and-run just prior to 8:30 pm January 6 at 2700 South 13000 East Road. Reports indicated a dark-colored vehicle left the scene. The vehicle is believed to have extensive front-end damage, particularly in the grill area, according to the Sheriff’s Dept.
