The Illinois Department of Transportation is informing the motoring public of upcoming railroad improvement work in Ford County.  IDOT reports the TP&W Railway crossing on Illinois Route 115 in Piper City will be closing beginning Tuesday, September 6.  Repairs are expected to take 12 days to complete.  A posted detour will direct motorists.
