ISP announce another arrest in the 2021 shooting of Bradley Police Officers

A 22-year-old Bradley man was arrested for his involvement in the December 2021 shootings of two Bradley police officers.  Illinois State Police DCI officials arrested Xavier Harris.  He's charged with 2-counts of Obstructijng Justice and 2-counts of Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive.  The felony counts stem from his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of Bradley police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and the wounding of Officer Tyler Bailey. 

Xavier Harris was jailed on a $75,000 bond at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee.

The December 29, 2021 incident at the Comfort Inn in Bradley resulted in the shooting death of Sgt. Rittmanic and wounding of Officer Bailey.  They responded to a noise complaint in the business parking lot, then were attacked inside the hotel , according to police. Darrius Sullivan and Xandria Harris were later arrested for First Degree Murder.

Kankakee County State's Attorney Jim Rowe said (Friday), "the charges are the result of our collective committment to make sure every individual who aided and assisted in the events of that day are held accountable."  Rowe said he commends the ISP for never giving up and bringing all involved to justice."

Xavier Harris' arrest is the 7th defendant to be charged overall.
