Winter is approaching and Ford County Public Health Department wants you to have a healthy season! Several walk-in flu clinics have been scheduled in the community. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently.
The walk-in clinics can be seen the health department website. Also, find the sites by calling the Paxton office at 217-379-9281. Clinics are available from October 4 - 20 at different locations.
All persons aged 6 months and older are recommended for annual vaccination. Vaccination to prevent influenza is particularly important for people who are at high risk for serious complications from influenza. A limited number of High Dose vaccines will be available to those 65 and older. Most in insurance plans are accepted. Covid vaccines and boosters will all be available during the clinics.
