Schools are back in session. Area safety experts, including police, fire, transportation, school-crossing officials and recreational outlets all urge the motoring public to look out for kids !
The usual excitement of many children as a new school year gets underway, finds too often, those young people aren’t always paying attention to traffic details. Motorists need to pay close attention to the roadways, especially in-or-around school zones.
School bus drivers often observe drivers not following Illinois’ School Bus Law ---- requiring all vehicles to STOP in both directions when buses are stopped with amber lights flashing to load or unload students.
Stiff fines could result for violators.
Law enforcement at the State, County and Municipal levels will be watching for said violations.
