The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office reports a 31-year-old Danville man was found dead, shot multiple times, inside a residence in the 100 block of Cherry Street in Danville. Coroner Jane McFadden identifies the victim as Jonathan E. Barry.

An autopsy is planned. The shooting happened about 3:40 Sunday morning.

Officers had responded to the residence about two hours earlier for a report of a loud party. Several people were there. They returned when reports came in of shots fired.
The investigation continues. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Danville Police at 217-431-2250. They can also call Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at 217-446-TIPS (8477).
