Behrends gets prison time for burglary & theft

A 25-year-old Cabery man was sentenced to prison for a burglary and theft case out of Livingston County.  Dustin Behrends pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, both class two felonies and was sentenced to three years in prison.  He also pled guilty to Theft between $10,000 and $100,000, a class two felony and received a five year prison term. Behrends will serve at least half the sentence and was given credit for serving 105 days in the Livingston County Jail.

Investigators say Behrends burglarized the gaming machines inside the American Legion in Cullom on November 30th of 2021. He also burglarized the gaming machines at a liquor establishment in Campus nearly 20 minutes after the first incident was reported.  Behrends was arrested on December 9th.
