The Village of Cissna Park and City of Gilman have turned to the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department for police patrol. Sheriff Clint Perzee says the contractual arrangements between the county and municipalities appear to be a trend that’ll benefit both sides. A dedicated, trained deputy will focus on that community once training is completed…
"Once training is completed, at the academy for14-weeks and 8-week field training, we should be ready to go with the contract agreement by October. It's all about proper training and safety for the officers," Perzee said. "This is what appears to be the trend for Iroquois County, local communities needing help with patrol."
Perzee also reported to the County Board Judicial & Public Safety committee that two deputies who had been on administrative leave due to an officer-involved shooting in Danforth are back on job. The officers were back on patrol as of January 14 and cleared of any wrong-doing following an ISP investigation.
