A veteran police officer in the Village of Bradley was shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday night. Authorities are now search for a suspect wanted for the officer-involved shooting at a hotel. Officers were called to the Comfort Inn, just off Route 50, and were taling with occupents in a room at the hotel when an altercation led to the shooting. One of the officers died of injuries at a local hospital. The other officer underwent emergency surgery and was in critical condition.
Law enforecent officers are looking for 25-year-old Darrius Sullivan. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Bradley Police Chief Don Barber said in a press release, it appears it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community. Illinois State Police has taken charge of the investigation. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Darrius Sullivan shoudl contact police or call Kankakee County Crime Stoppers 815-93-CRIME.
