COVID cases still rising, vaccinations urged

Iroquois County Public Health Department Administrator Dee Schippert informed the County Board Health Committee this past week ‘there’s been a tremendous increase in covid-19 cases. There’s 92 individuals, at last count, who have passed away in the county since the pandemic started.

Tuesday, County Board Chairman John Shure said the numbers don’t paint a pretty picture. He said if you haven’t rolled up your sleeve, do it …….."we had a report of 200+ couple weeks ago.  Now, hear we have 410 new cases.  It's still out there, COVID is real and we're not out of the woods," Shure said.  "We have to keep battling this thing."

Just less than 45% (44.8%) of Iroquois County’s population has been vaccinated. That means, some of you need to step up, says Shure ………"people need to understand we can't relax our efforts. People need to step up to the plate and get vaccinated."
