Petition materials available for 2022 General Primary Election

 Iroquois County Clerk Breein Suver and Kankakee County Clerk Dan Hendrickson announce that prospective candidates interested in running for specific offices in the June 28, 2022 General Primary Election may obtain their nominating petition packets beginning today, January 13.

County Clerks offices have the needed paper work. Packets may be picked up at respective county offices. Info packets can also be downloaded from websites.
Several offices are up election in 2022, including local and state and federal offices.

Only candidates running for a county office – County Clerk, County Treasurer, Sheriff, County Board or Precinct Committeeperson will submit their petitions with the County Clerk’s office. Candidates running for other offices will file with the State Board of Elections in Springfield. Prospective candidates must file their petitions between March 7th and March 14th.

Candidates running for the same office that file simultaneously at 8:30 a.m. on March 7th will be eligible for a lottery to determine the top position on the June 28th ballot. Candidates who file within the last hour for filing on March 14th will be eligible for a lottery to determine the last position on the ballot.
