Illinois State Troopers Cracking Down On Impaired and Reckless Drivers in March

The Illinois State Police will be conducting roadside safety checks at random times during the upcoming month of March.

These state funded roadblock checkpoints will be up and down at random times especially at night. Troopers will not only be looking out for drunk and drugged drivers, but also for those driving recklessly, and who are driving with open containers of alcohol in their cars. They will also be watchful for those driving illegally with suspended or revoked licenses. Alcohol and Drug Impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal crashes in Illinois.
