Police help for Cissna Park

Iroquois County’s in talks with the community of Cissna Park for police patrol. There’s a few issues to work out, but County Board Chairman John Shure explains a contractual agreement for law enforcement support would be similar to what’s been set up in the City of Gilman.

Some questions arose about new expenses that may arise as more cities/towns pursue patrol help from the county sheriff’s department; it could affect budgets. Cissna Park is showing interest in a 40-hour per week patrol service. Sheriff Clint Perzee said the proposal would require hiring another officer, getting him/her trained at the police academy. It usually starts with a one-year contract.
