Bennett seeks to continue work for rural communities
State Representative Dr. Tom Bennett is announcing his re-election campaign to the 106th District in the Illinois General Assembly. Rep. Bennett serves as an advocate for the needs of rural communities. He has received the “Friend of Agriculture” award as well as recognition for his work to establish the East Central Illinois Flood Alliance, an organization of communities in his district aimed at flood resilience.
“It’s an honor to be a voice for rural and blue-collar communities,” Bennett said. “I will continue to create opportunities within our region to help families prosper in Illinois.”
After the redistricting process, the 106th District will shift northward, reaching the I-80 corridor. Rep. Bennett’s passion for connecting with residents of his district has already led him to meet area leaders, families, and job creators in the new part of the district and learn their challenges.
In Springfield, Representative Tom Bennett serves as Assistant Minority Leader, in addition to key roles on education and public safety-related committees.
The 106th Illinois House District contains all or part of Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, LaSalle, Livingston, and McLean Counties.
