The Watseka Area Food Pantry is celebrating 40 years of helping people in need. The pantry has operated in the basement of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, expanding to bring assistantance to those in need during difficult times. Members of the Watseka Church and the Community Service Council operate the pantry. Volunteer help is always needed.
Starting in February 1982, members will now host an Open House at the Pantry on Sunday, February 27 from 1 - 4 pm to celebrate this valuable service to the residents of Iroquois County. Masks will be required per CDC guidelines.
The purpose of the Watseka Area Food Pantry is to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors by providing individuals and families primarily in Iroquois County with supplemental food and other essential supplies to meet their needs.
