A family member of area law enforcement lost a battle with COVID-19 complications.  45-year-old  Brian Norton pf Paxton died (Saturday) from complications of COVID-19.  He died at Carle Hospital in Urbana. 

Sheriff  Mark Doran and his department are mourning Deputy Norton's death.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Cox-Knapp Funeral Home in Paxton.  A memorial visitation and service will be at the funeral home Saturday, February 19 from 11 am 'til 2 pm.  Deputy Norton had been on medical leave since falling ill with COVID last September.  

Deputy Norton had served Ford County as adeputy since July 2019.  He previously worked as a police officer in Paxton, Gilman, Onarga and Rossville.
