Indy motorist jailed after I-65 pursuit

Police used stop-sticks along I-65 overnight to control a man who tried to outrun authorities during a traffic stop.  31-year-old Jarrett Rivera of Indianapolis was taken into custody in Jasper County.  Rivera faces felony charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Justice, and Possession of a Legend Drug.  He was also in possession of marijuana and drug materials when he was finally stopped.   Police at Lowell said Rivera fled from a stop on southbound I-65 around 11:20 pm.  He avoided several stop-sticks near Demotte/Roselawn and finally Rensalaer Police were successful in getting the vehicle stopped in na field.

Rivera was also charged with Reckless Driving and was wanted in Marion County for felony offenses of Resisting Law Enforcement and Dealing in Cocaine.
