A seven-year-old Kankakee boy was killed in a weekend snowmobile accident in Kankakee County. The boy is identified as Cale Osterhoff, the son of Chad and Jennifer Osterhoff.

Cale was first-grade student at St. Joseph Catholic School in Bradley where counselors are available today.

Illinois State Police and the County Coroner's office are investigating. The accident happened Saturday night near 2000 E and 4000 S Road. Coroner Bob Gessner said the boy's father was driving the snowmobile when it ran into a ditch and flipped. The boy was riding on the back. The victim was wearing a protective helmet.
