Gov. J.B. Pritzker ordered schools to close Tuesday as part of a continuing effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus. Today (Monday) will be the last day in March that kids will be in class. Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who made the announcement Friday, said the decision was not easy. Pritzker says communities outside of Chicago area need to be just as vigilant, as the virus has shown it can spread very quickly and be in a community long before it’s discovered.
As of Sunday, 93 Illinois residents had tested positive for COVID-19. Indiana's cases was at 19.
