Voters in Iroquois County said No to creation of an Iroquois County River Conservancy District.  The effort aimed to find ways to control flooding, but another tax was not in the cards for taxpayers.  It failed 929-465....margin of defeat 67% to 33%.

Voters in Middleport, Belmont, Concord, Iroquois and for people along a mile on either side of the Iroquois River were eligible to vote on the question.  Opponents climaed theissue should have been a county-wide referenda.

Kankakee County voters also voted down a measure to expand the boundaries of an already-existing river conservancy.  It failed 52-46%.
