The Veterans Assistance Commission offices in Iroquois and Kankakee counties are offering special help for area veterans.  On Friday, March 26, the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is staging an event at Kankakee Community College. The event is for veterans and their family experiencing poverty level conditions.  Those in need of toiletry and cleaning items need to fill out paperwork prior to the event.  That paperwork is to be filled out in the respective VAC offices in either Watseka or Kankakee.  Questions can be directed to the offices at 815-432-2721 or 815-937-8489.

The Shelter for Homeless Veterans event will be held at the KCC River-front Campus parking lot (near the wind tower) Friday, March 26 from 10 am 'til 2 pm.
