House Republicans introduce bills to reduce costs & regulations for gun owners

House Republicans are introducing several bills to reduce costs and regulations for gun owners.

Representative Patrick Windhorst (Metropolis) says his office receives daily complaints from people waiting on FOID cards and related problems. He says they are addressing this with new legislation.
“If we can’t get the FOID matter resolved by appealing, then we have common sense fixes that’ll help our citizens,” Windhorst said.

In Vermilion County, Rep. Mike Maron insists “you’re taking law abiding citizens trying to do the right thing and creating a problem for them about being compliant with law. That’s a serious issue.”

The bills ban local governments from imposing taxes or fees on guns and ammo, lower the fee for a concealed carry license from 150 to 100 dollars and require automatic renewal of concealed carry licenses if they haven’t expired yet.
