Surveillance video at a Watseka store helped police nab a man they say is responsible for a Christmas Day burglary at the Watseka Wal-Mart store.
42-year-old Benjamin Hall of Savoy is jailed in Iroquois County. He's charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. Hall is also being held for burglary in Kentland, Indiana.
Watseka Police report Hall has confessed to his involvement to three burglaries, the Wal-Mart incident and two others in Kentland.
It was Christmas night when Watseka police responded to an alarm at Wal-Mart. Police found entry to the building was made and that a security gate to the store's pharmacy had been damaged. After reviewing video from the store, police learned a television had been stolen from the business.
Saturday afternoon, Patrolman Scott Muench stopped a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle observed on video used in the Wal-Mart burglary. During that stop, police were able to find evidence inside the truck linking the driver to the Wal-Mart incident.
