The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is reporting that a magnitude 3.6 earthquake in Putnam County south of Standard, near the border of LaSalle County. It happened at about 4:40 (this) Wednesday morning.
There are reports, according to the USGS, of people feeling it all the way up in the Chicago suburbs. People on social media reported loud sounds and even some homes shaking. A 3.6 magnitude earthquake is considered to be "slight" on the Richter Scale.
