35-year-old Billy Stevens of Paxton could be spending up to 60 years in prison. He was convicted Wednesday of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Stevens will be sentenced November 17 in Ford County Circuit Court.
A Ford County jury returned a guilty verdict of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony.
Stevens was charged in February for allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl over the course of more than a year. The charges were a result of an investigation by Paxton police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Service.
