Chief Judge Michael Kramer has announced plans to resume a more traditional court schedule effective June 1 (2020) followinbg weeks to altered activity due to the COVID-19 emergency pandemic. Judge Kramer advises jurors and litigants to be aware of changes when they arrive at court facilities in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties. A mask/face covering will be required, some jury trials will resume at reduced levels - spacing between jurors will be in place,the court may rely more on virtual and remote hearings, and some cases may be rescheduled.
Judge Kramer said "we will be returning to essentially a full-time schedule but the courthouse process is going to look different." He said he's confident we can all pull together and cooperate thru this challenging time.
