Cissna Park, Iroquois West also making move to VVC

The re-structuring of high school athletic conference set-ups continue. Watseka, Cissna Park and Iroquois West high schools will become part of the Vermilion Valley Conference (VVC).

The 2020-21 school year will be the last for Watseka’s participation in the Sangamon Valley Conference.

Watseka High School will join the VVC for the 2021-22 school year. Current SVC schools, Cissna Park and Iroquois West, are also moving to the VVC.

The local area is also already well-represented in the VVC….Milford, Hoopeston Area, Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin are all current members. Others in the VVC include: Armstrong-Potomac, Chrisman, Georgetown-Ridge Farm, Oakwood, Salt Fork, Danville Schlarman and Westville.

Other school districts are still negotiating to see what their options are for future league affiliations.
