Re-open: Limited access to lift, some Iroquois County offices re-opening

Iroquois County Board Chairman John Shure is announcing the Administrative Center Offices in Watseka will open for the public tomorrow (Thursday 5/28). The offices of county clerk, county treasurer, assessment, zoning and finance will re-open to the general public for those citizens wishing to conduct county business.

The County Highway Department will remain closed until further notice, but available by appointment. The Iroquois County Public Health Department is open to the public by appointment only.

In a prepared press release, Shure states “It is recommended that all visitors take appropriate precautions include wearing protective masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet. “

 “Also, the county recommends that everyone wishing to conduct county business utilize alternative methods such as email, U.S. mail, telephone, etc. whenever possible.” Shure extends a thank you for the cooperation over the last several weeks.The announcement comes as Governor Pritizker’s Order is allowing restrictions to lighten beginning Friday.
