More than ten fire departments responded to an apartment fire in the 600 block of South East Street in Gardner Sunday evening. Reports had flames coming from the rear window of the second floor apartment building. The fire was contained to one unit. No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and estimated damages are around $200,000.

Gardner Fire had mutual aid from Dwight, Morris, Coal City, Limestone, Odell, Mazon, Wilmington, South Wilmington, and Braidwood.
