River-watchers in Illinois and Indiana are keeping their eyes on waterways. Rainfall amounts from Saturday thru Sunday ranged from a bit more than an inchy to five-plus inches. Flooded roads and farm fields were the norm earlier today (Monday.) Several routes and homes were flooded in Chicago-area neighborhoods. The Willis Tower in Chicago was without power, due to flooding. Com-Ed officials say they can't make repairs on Lower Wacker Avenue until flood waters recede.
A Flood Warning has been extended thru Saturday 5/23 for Sugar Creek at Milford and the Mazon River near Coal City. The NWS issued the extension thru 1 pm Saturday. Sugar Creek measured 20.5 feet late Monday afternoon. The flood stage is 18-feet. Minor flooding is forecast.
