Limestone Township Fire Chief Brosseau to plead guilty

The former fire chief of the Limestone Township Fire District reportedly will plead guilty to felont theft charges.

Jeff Brosseau (Bross-SO) plans to enter a guilty plea to felony theft charges and pay back the money he is accused of stealing from the Kankakee Valley Firemen's Association.


The Daily-Journal reported the 56-year-old was arrested in October 2011 for allegedly taking over $55,000 from the firemen's association between 2006 and 2009. Brosseau served as the association treasurer at the time. His arrest followed a three-month investigation by the Illinois State Police.


He resigned as fire chief in November 2010.
