Jackie Haas is the new state rep for the 79th legislative district in Illinois.  Haas took her oath of office last week, sworn-in by now-Judge Lyndsay Parkhurst. Parkhurst wa serving the 79th District since 2017 but elected not to seek another term, instead seeking a judgeship.  She too was elected in November now serving the 21st Judicial Circuit.

Haas is CEO of the non-profit Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health. Haas grew up in Momence and attended Bishop McNamara High School.  She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work. .
