A missing 2-year-old girl from Alabama has been found in Manteno, Manteno police said in a news release issue before noon today.
Both the child's mother, Jennifer Mosteter, and the child, Carrie Mosteter, were turned over to the FBI at 10:30 a.m. today. The child was then turned over to the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
DCFS will then return the child to the custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
On March 8, an AMBER alert regarding the child and mother was issued by Alabama authorities. The mother did not have custodial rights.
The pair was suspected of being in the Manteno area because the mother has relatives there.
