WATSEKA — Iroquois County Sheriff Derek Hagen was recently elected to the 21-member governing board of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System. He was also re- elected to continue in his role as treasurer of the ILEAS.
Hagen was officially elected by the newly seated governing board to a two-year term as treasurer. He’ll be part of the executive committee, providing oversight over the activities of the staff, working with the board to establish policy and strategic planning.
ILEAS is an alliance of more than 900 local and state law enforcement agencies; it was created to meet the needs of law enforcement in Illinois in matters of mutual aid, emergency response and the combining of resources for public safety.
The governing board comprises chiefs of police and sheriffs elected by their peers from eight regions of Illinois. Hagen was re-elected to the board by his peers from Region 7, which covers a 13-county area in East Central Illinois.
