No Burn bans in place

No Burning Orders have been put in place…due to the dry conditions. Local officials are hopeful that much-needed rain will arrive before the July 4 firework displays.
Governmental leaders are stepping up in Iroquois and Vermilion County; also in Ford and Douglas Counties. In Indiana—Newton and Jasper County residents are asked to refrain from burning as well.

The Eastern Illinois Mutual Aid Association has issued a ban on all controlled-burns until further notice. The Lack of moisture, relatively low humidity, and the burned up grass ---puts all burning on hold.  It poses way too much of a risk.

Fireworks also pose a concern; it’s hoped that situation will help itself with rain before the holiday period.

A Red Flag burn ban was issued in the City of Hoopeston.  Hoopeston officials also postponed a planned fireworks show for Saturday.

County Commissioers in Jasper and Newton County, IN have also put No Burn bans in place – until conditions improve.
