Update: $7-million bond for Kankakee man accused in Watseka shootings

In Iroquois County Court Friday ---Bond was set at $7 million for a Kankakee man facing 4-counts of first-degree murder for the shooting deaths of two people in Watseka.
Iroquois County States Attorney James Devine said 44-year-old Scott E. Peterson is jailed in Watseka. Iroquois County State’s Attorney Jim Devine filed four-counts of first degree murder against Peterson.

42-year-old Amanda Peterson and 38-year-old Joseph Robinson were both dead at the scene at 346 W. North Street.

The 21-year-old son of Peterson was wounded by gunfire. He’s hospitalized in Urbana. Illinois State Police Crime scene technicians, Watseka Police and the County Coroner’s Office spent some 16 hours processing the scene. The investigation continues.

The Court assigned Public Defender Lance Cagel to represent Peterson.  Peterson is due back in court August 23 at 9:30 am.
