New Judge in the 21st Circuit

Attorney Andrew J. Purcell, a Kankakee native, was recently voted to fill the vacant associate judge position by the seven Circuit Judges of the 21st Judicial Circuit. The appointment was made by the District's Chief Judge, Thomas Cunnington.  Judge-elect Purcell will be formally sworn in May 11 at 4 pm in Courtoom 300 at the Kankakee County Courthouse.

Andrew Purcell has practiced law for nearly 24 years. He is currently a Senior Associate in the law firm Spiros Law P.C. in Kankakee.   He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, and received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is a member of the Kankakee County Bar Association and Illinois Bar Association.

Andrew and his wife, Meredith, reside in Manteno with their three children.

The 21st Judicial Circuit will welcome Supreme Court Justice Mary K. O’Brien to preside at the swearing-in ceremony.
