Kankakee Community College officials, friends and business leaders gathered (Wed) to celebrate the newest addition to its riverfront campus --- Advanced Technology Education Center (ATEC).

The KCC Board of Trustees was recognized for its vision and leadership in making such a tremendous addition to the campus happen. President Dr. John Avendano and incoming President Michael Boyd were introduced as leaders and visionaries for KCC’s future.

Avendano told the audience about the great ride it’s been to make this ATEC a reality. Avendano talked about the KCC journey and the leader the college has become.

The long journey, he said, makes so many people proud..........

Professor Tim Wilhelm, many say, was the true pilot of the program at KCC. His leadership and direction has molded students to handle the solar & wind future.
