The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Administration is making a $2-million grant available to the Kankakee County Drug Court program. Several people can benefit from the treatment programs funded by the grant. Sheriff Mike Downey said $400,000 per year for the next five years is made available. He said there’s so many people in need of such care – DRUGS & MENTAL HEALTH -- that get overlooked in other programs.
