Iroquois County jobless numbers drop, Kankakee is up

New numbers released (Thursday) from the Illinois Department of Employment Security shows some improvement in East Central Illinois. Unemployment numbers fell last month.

 Iroquois County’s jobless rate dropped from 5.5 to 4.4 percent in April.

Vermilion County’s unemployment rate fell one-percent to 5.3 percent. In Champaign County the April jobless rate of 4.1 percent compares to 4.7 in March.

Kankakee County unemployment was up last month…5.3%. That was up from 4.8% in April of 2018.
