It’s that time of year.... as we reported earlier, brush fires can oftentimes burn out of control. And the weekend winds kept several area fire departments busy over the weekend.

Easter Sunday plans were interrupted for many volunteer firemen. Beaverville, Papineau, Donovan, St. Anne, Pembroke Township, Aroma Park – all among those on hand to help control flames in northeastern Iroquois County and eastern Kankakee County.

No injury was reported. Rural folks are reminded about burning on windy days and making sure you’re monitoring any controlled-burns.
