KANKAKEE, IL -- Riverside Healthcare has named Matthew McBurnie, vice president of institutional advancement. In this role, McBurnie will continue to guide the Riverside foundation as well as oversee marketing and public relations, government relations and volunteer services. He had previously served as executive director of the Riverside Healthcare Foundation.
"Matt has done an outstanding job connecting Riverside and the work of the foundation to the community," said Riverside President and CEO Phil Kambic. "In this new role, he will continue to find ways to further the mission of the organization throughout our growing service area."
McBurnie joined Riverside in the fall of 2007 as the Executive Director of the Riverside Healthcare Foundation. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet Nazarene University and his Master of Business Administration from University of Illinois Chicago. In 2014, he became a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning.
He serves on the Advisory Board for Olivet Nazarene University's Social Work program and a board member of the Kiwanis Club of Kankakee and in 2014, began a two-year term as chair of the board of directors for the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as the vice chair of the Coalition for Hope and Excellence in Education.
In 2006, McBurnie was chosen Kankakee County's "Young Citizen of the Year." {info submitted}
