Targeting heroin trafficking, The Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (V-MEG) arrested five people on drug related charges. Three of the five were women, according to a press release from Illinois State Police.
A traffic stop near the Danville Public Housing neighborhood led to the discovery of several syringes in the vehicle. Charges include possession of heroin.
Two other suspects arrested are a husband and wife who were taken into custody (Tuesday) on Danville's west side. Master Sergeant Lisa Mitchell says children found in the couple's home were placed into protective custody with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Agents confiscated cannabis and a gun from the residence.
