Could the Bourbonnais Park District be abolished ? That's something the citizens watchdog group OUTRAGE is talking about as it responds to a news story last week, that the park district plans to lease the former Hidden Cove Sportsplex.

The plan to lease what's been recently known as Legends Sportsplex comes after voters last year voted NO to have the park district take over the facility. Yet, now the plan is to lease it and eventually own it in 10 years.

Should the matter go back on the ballot to abolish the park district, it would take organizers over 4,000 signatures to place the question on a ballot. In November of 2012, voters rejected the idea of the park district taking over the facility by 2-1 margin.
