The City of Watseka has certainly had its problems with flooding. The city and Iroquois County are joining forces to form a River Conservancy District.

The Iroquois County Board Tuesday agreed to upcoming activity to establish the Iroquois County River Conservancy District.

Chairman John Shure says it only makes sense for the city and county to work together to further mitigate flood problems. Most of the issues center around Watseka, he said, so we need to be working together.
