The dedication of a new flagpole at Governor Small Memorial Park in Kankakee (Monday) was part of the area's Veterans Day ceremonies.

Several community events were conducted, most led by American Legion and VFW Posts. The colors were presented at Governor Small Park. The flagpole in located in the park's Liberty Freedom Garden.

Other Veterans Day observances were held in Bradley, Momence, Hoopeston, Paxton, Gibson City, Danville, and at South Newton High School in Kentland, IN.
